Job description

In order to improve the functioning of the operational teams, the group has implemented the “LEAN teams” initiative. And to support this there are “continuous improvements” (CIs) – the constant improvements of processes and IT tools.

CIs are medium-sized enhancements that are not included in the major development projects, but follow their own roadmap within NEO and are created by the operational teams themselves to provide a solution to their day-to-day problems.

Subsequently, these CIs are either carried out by the operational teams themselves (these teams are divided among 9 local entities throughout Belgium), or they are escalated to the national level in the teams within SET, mainly in the BSOs, when it comes to adaptations of an IT tool, or with the BPOs (Business Process Owners) when it comes to adjustments to a process that is managed at the national level.

As Technical Coordinator of the CBS you are responsible for coordinating the technical details of the national CBS:

You will liaise with local teams to clarify the application and to achieve a sufficient maturity to start developing the solution.
To determine the solution and identify the possible potential impacts, be assisted by the concerned BSOs and BPOs. You do not have to be an expert in NEO’s IT systems or processes to monitor and manage the realization of the CIs.
You interact with the development teams to collect cost estimates for each CI and monitor the delivery of the necessary developments by the IT teams.
You organize a regular screening of all CIs at the national level to maintain the correct image in the follow-up tool (JIRA). On a recurring basis, you inform the local teams about the status of the various CIs at the national level.
You pay attention to respecting the SOPs (Standard Operations) defined for the CIs.
You take care of the follow-up of the CBS at the national level and you regularly communicate the status to the applicant (s).
Every two weeks you participate in the coordination, prioritization, and reporting meetings with the other stakeholders (CIO & CI Boards).
You join the CI Domain Manager to give him a synthetic picture of the progress, to raise points for attention or to prepare the communication to the local teams or management.
Required profile:

You speak and write fluently in English, Dutch and French.
You have experience in coordinating technical projects.
You have an analytical but also a solution-oriented approach.
You strive to get the most thorough understanding of each problem and are not satisfied with partial statements.
You work in a structured way and have good organizational skills.
You are able to lead meetings, with a good preparation and agenda, and have them result in clear conclusions and action points in a report.
You are willing to immerse yourself in the functioning and the interaction between the different applications used or to play a role in the documentation and roll-out of fiber optic and copper networks.
You can work flexibly and independently, but also in a team and you like to take initiatives.
You have the opportunity to communicate impactfully with others in a matrix environment, where you negotiate and align different visions and priorities to find a solution.
you are able to draw up detailed schedules and procedures with the necessary plan B’s that you follow and implement.
You enjoy giving presentations and training and writing technical documents.
You have a basic knowledge of IT concepts and tools (MSA, SQL, ERD data model, …).
You have at least a bachelor’s degree or equivalent through experience.
